Advocates citing waiting periods, parental consent rules, and funding gaps say access still isn’t as easy as it should be, and attempts to restrict the procedure aren’t over. Less than two years ago, GOP lawmakers attempted to enshrine language in the state constitution saying there is no right to an abortion here, and many members who supported that push are still in office.
